Question
Can the flooring chipboard be used with under floor heating
I am considering installing the chipboard flooring as a floating floor over 75mm rigid insulation on top of this I will then put 25x50mm battens.
Underfloor heating pipes will then be put between the battens in an 8:1 sand/cement dry mix and wooden flooring put over the top.

Is the chipboard flooring suitable for this use.?

I've converting my garage into a studio, am looking to lay a damp proof membrane onto the concrete floor, then 100mm of celotex. Would 18mm of chipboard be ok to lay straight on top of that?

Yes. These boards are suitable when supported on 450mm centres, so sitting on a bed of celotex would be fine. it should be glued with a woodworking adhesive.

Question
Can this flooring be tiled upon? (P5 moisture resistant)
I took a sample to my local tile shop and was told that due to the chemical treatment this cannot be tiled upon and would need covering up before doing so. Is this true? Is there a product I can treat the surface with to allow me to tile onto it?
Thanks

If you are going to lay tiles over this flooring you will need to lay a 15mm plywood board over the top.
As the information you have received about "…chemical treatment this cannot be tiled upon and would need covering up…"This is true.

Question
Can I lay laminate flooring directly on top of this tongue and groove?
I'm creating a floor in a basement using various surfaces to protect against sound and mild moisture. I plan to lay this with laminate over it. Would it work or would it need another layer between the tongue and groove and the laminate?

Yes, you can lay laminate directly onto your floor. However, for thin laminates it is recommended that you overlay with thin ply (say 6mm) as there can sometimes be 'show through' of the TG joints.

Question
Do the boards need to be sealed if carpeting over
New floor needed in Victorian terrace ground floor. Foundation is chalk and laid new joists, there hs been some damp in the past but think it's now ok.

Can I just screw these down onto the joists and carpet over or should I treat then somehow against damp. If so how?
